Storage and Handling Recommendations:

Containers of Isocyanate 5005 should be properly sealed and stored in well-ventilated indoor areas under normal factory production conditions. To ensure optimal handling, it should be stored at room temperature (20-30°C), as lower temperatures may cause crystallization. It is essential to protect the material from freezing. If stored under improper conditions, solid crystallization may occur. For information on the melting procedure, please refer to publication PU 181-15E.

It is not recommended to store the product at temperatures above 50°C, as this may lead to the formation of insoluble solids and an increase in viscosity over time. Under the recommended storage conditions, when kept in properly sealed containers such as drums or tanks, the shelf life of Isocyanate 5005 is nine months from the date of delivery.

To prevent reactions with atmospheric moisture, Isocyanate 5005 must be stored in containers filled with dry air and properly sealed. During handling, any contact with water or moisture must be avoided. Containers should be resealed immediately after use.

Isocyanates react with water to form insoluble urea and carbon dioxide gas, which can increase pressure inside sealed containers. Therefore, it is critical that containers used for storing Isocyanate 5005 remain completely dry.
